Alright, children. I have been very lax about my blogging habits. So, let's go back three and half months to the honeymoon. Oh, how glorious the honeymoon was. I DID NOT want to leave! Tim's family goes to Maine every year for their family vacation, and I had never been to MA. So, Tim and I decided to visit just the two of us for our honeymoon. It was a blast. Tim showed me all of their old haunts, and I got to enjoy being a Cotter.
Tim and I got married on a March 17th, and March 18th we drove to MA. Maine is beautiful. It had beautiful trees, ocean, and sea food! Tim and I stayed in the Admiral Inn, from Sunday night to Thursday, and it was perfect. When Tim and I pulled up it was night time in MA, and during the "off season" this means that the place is deserted. The owners of the Inn left their front door unlocked for us and left us a little note. They trusted us to let ourselves in and lock the front door behind us. We had the place to ourselves. When I walked into our room, I was SO happy. When you walk in you stepped into a sitting room with two chairs and a television. Then, you walked into our room and their was a KING size bed with a dark wood frame, a JACUZZI, and a flat screen T.V. and other noteable cute things...but I will move on. Tim's favorite part of the room was the Jacuzzi. You could watch the flat screen from the tub...a man's dream.....and my dream too.
The first day we stopped at this little mom and pop shop for lunch. It was DELICIOUS! I am telling you the sea food is worth the drive. SO good. Then we went and hit up some of the outlets in Kittery, Maine. It was a lot of fun. They had all kinds of stores. One of my favorites was the Lindt store. My heart almost burst with joy when it came to the sale they were having. It was perfect for gifts that we needed to give out for helping with the wedding. Tim's favorite store, I do believe, was the Caphlon outlet. We got all of our pots and pans there for less than half of what you would normally pay...let's just say that made it my favorite store as well. Surprisingly, we didn't get a single pot or pan from the wedding. How crazy is that? After a long day of shopping, we ate at the "Weathervaine" in Kittery. I had my first lobster there. It was delicious. Tim taught me how to eat the Lobstah, and I must say that I was a quick study. It might have helped that their were also instructions on how to eat a lobster on the bibs they give out with the lobster! It was so fun!
The next day, Tim and I went to a store called Yummies. My heart almost stopped when I walked in the front doors. This store is floor to ceiling candy. I had to remind myself to keep walking when I went in. My mouth dropped. Anything you want that is sweet, they have it. I had to keep Tim in check while grabbing at the candy! He was so excited. I am not going to lie, we still have candy from Yummies in our pantry, and Tim and I will have been married for Four months in about five days. I know, it's impressive. Anyway, later that day, Tim took me to the beach and to a light house that was near the shore. It was perfect. I walked the beach in flip flops that my Aunt Lisa gave to me for the honeymoon. They say, "just married" on the bottom of them. It was so fun, and the weather was perfect. I could not have asked for a better time. After that, Tim drove me around for a little bit and showed me some of the places that his family likes to go. Pure awesomeness. As it was getting late, Tim and I stopped at a sea food joint. Again, it was delicious. Tim had more Lobster, and I had calamari and cod. TO DIE FOR!
Wednesday, Tim and I had a lazy morning. I was SO incredibly happy. After we had had enough relaxing, we went to the store to get some food to go with our picnic. Tim and I drove around and found a lobster pound. A lobster pound is when you go to the fishermen themselves and buy the lobster. We bought four delicious lobster and went to a park. The park was so fun. There was a sand volley ball court, trees, and a playground surrounding us. While I set the table, and got the sides ready, Tim the master chef himself cooked the lobster. His lobster tasted better than the restaurants! We enjoyed our dinner together on a perfect evening. Again, I could not have asked for better weather or better company!
The final day, Tim and I went to some more outlet stores, ate at the
Weathervaine one more time, and said goodbye to our glorious king size
bed, jacuzzi, and flat screen. Maine treated us well. If you want to
know....Tim's lobstah count for our honeymoon equals TEN. Tim ate TEN
lobsters on our honeymoon, and I am almost positive that he could have
eaten more if he would have let himself. I will always have fond
memories of Maine, I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK! Thank you to everyone that
made our honeymoon possible! I love you my chef!
